Horse Training Services

Here at Rafter R Training Center, we provide horse/mule training services that include colt starting, halter training, retraining and individual or group riding lessons. We also provide training on cattle (basic cutting, cow horse)and driving/pulling. We guarantee your colts to be soft and supple with a foundation that will last. Fees are as follows

20.00/Ride Colt Starting and Retraining
Private riding lessons: English/Western -- 20.00 per hour
Group riding lessons: English/Western -- 10.00 per hour per person

Our definition of a colt that’s started is one that will…

Stop
Back
Leg yield
Walk
Trot
Lope
Ground manners
Trailer loading
Pasture/trail riding

…all while being quiet and soft. Providing you with a solid foundation from which your horse can go anywhere (from dressage, to the snaffle bit futurity.)

Personally I recommend 60 days for colt starting. A lot of people feel like that may be just a way to get at their pocket book, but a 30 day colt is just that (a 30 day colt).
